In modern industrial cooling systems, closed-circuit evaporative coolers have become the preferred choice for many companies due to their high efficiency, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and reliability. Material selection plays a crucial role in the performance, service life, and cost-effectiveness of closed-circuit evaporative coolers.
First, the choice of casing material is crucial. Common casing materials include galvanized steel and stainless steel. Galvanized steel offers excellent rust resistance and high strength, is relatively inexpensive, and effectively protects the internal structure from environmental influences, making it suitable for most general operating conditions. Stainless steel offers superior corrosion resistance and stability in harsh chemical environments, but is more expensive. If the cooler is used in highly corrosive environments such as chemical or marine applications, a stainless steel casing is a more reliable choice.
Second, the material of the heat exchange tubes directly impacts the heat transfer efficiency of the cooler. Copper tubes are a traditional and high-quality heat exchange tube material, offering excellent thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, enabling rapid heat transfer and ensuring effective cooling. However, copper tubes are relatively expensive and can corrode in certain environments. Stainless steel heat exchange tubes have also been widely used in recent years. They are not only highly corrosion-resistant, but also strong and have a long service life. Although their thermal conductivity is slightly inferior to copper tubes, they are a better choice in applications where corrosion resistance is a high priority.

Furthermore, the material of the piping in the sprinkler water system should not be overlooked. PVC or PP pipes are generally used, as they offer excellent corrosion resistance and are relatively low cost. They are adaptable to the chemical properties of the sprinkler water and ensure stable system operation.
When selecting the material for a closed evaporative cooler, it is important to comprehensively consider factors such as the operating environment, performance requirements, and cost budget. Only by making a reasonable choice based on actual conditions can the cooler maintain efficient and stable performance over the long term, thereby generating greater economic benefits and value for the enterprise.
